Image_speed basically increments the image_index of the instance by that amount every step. The problem is that you're drawing a sprite that isn't the instance's sprite_index. It also appears that the sprite isn't animating fully. The room speed is set to 60 fps and the sprite fps in the image editor is set to 1 and the sprite still animates really fast when drawn through code but, animates as desired when displayed through a object's sprite and placed into room. Along with the adjustment of the fps of the sprite itself in the sprite editor. Even when using an image speed of 0.1 and a room speed of 30 fps. I've also attempted to use "image_speed"(in the create/draw event) but, no change is apparent. I decided to see if the sprite would animate really fast when being drawn through an object's sprite and it appears to animate at the desired speed. However, when done through code, it animates really fast. ![]() I am trying to display a sprite in game and it's animated. ![]() Could someone explain this to me?Īs well as, how to have the sprite animate at the fps set in the image editor w/o using "image_speed"? Because its still animating faster than the set fps set in the image editor. This slowed it down and it appears to animate at desired speed. I then added the "image_speed" in the create event and set it to 0.1. So, I just tested the code in another object's draw code and still had it animating really fast.
